Urban redevelopment providing a community-based housing experience
The Pillars of Prospect Park is a 283-unit senior living community that offers independent and assisted living, memory care, and respite care apartment living—along with student housing and childcare services. This project is a continuation of our partnership with Oppidan across the region.
Our team provided civil design, a traffic study, environmental, surveying, and platting services for this project. The civil design required coordination with the reconstruction of 4th Street on the north side. Runoff from the site is routed to the Towerside District regional stormwater treatment facility, operated by the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization (MWMO). The location was given a specific allotment of stormwater treatment volume/capacity within the regional system, and due to the project's evolving nature, the allotment available became insufficient. As a result, an underground storage chamber was installed on site which, in conjunction with the treatment provided by the regional system, provides necessary stormwater management. To meet city requirements, the project required coordination with the City of Minneapolis, MWMO, and other stakeholders to achieve a successful outcome.
Today, this project provides an exceptional community living experience across generations in the heart of the Prospect Park neighborhood.
