Promoting an enjoyable outdoor experience for residents whether they are inside or out
RoseCrest was Pennsylvania’s first new-build assisted living facility under the state’s recently enacted licensing category. It was envisioned as a non-institutional environment, built to help people “live the abundant life.”
The front of the building features a wrap-around porch with ornamental banisters and wide columns that lead to a covered drop-off with trellised roof. The home-like character and detailing are familiar, yet intended to set this new residence apart—giving the new St. John Alzheimer's Assisted Living Residence a unique identity and comfortable ambiance.
Featured at the front entry is an octagonal parlor, finished outside in stone with its chimney rising beyond. The central great room with exposed wood trusses, extensive woodwork, and clerestory windows is the most significant interior space. One end features a large stained-glass window comprised of old stained glass units reconfigured in the shape of a cross.
The neighborhood's great room, the more casual family room, and the creative arts area open out onto welcoming outdoor spaces and pleasant exterior views across the hills.
