Collaborating to enable Canada’s trade objectives with community in mind

As part of the Greater Vancouver Gateway 2030 program to prepare for Metro Vancouver’s growing trade areas, we’re providing owner’s engineering services to the Port of Vancouver on four strategic grade separations across the region.

The Pitt Meadows Road and Rail Improvements Project involves the new Kennedy Overpass and Harris Underpass that will provide grade separation between the CP mainline and local road connections.  This project, in partnership with WSP, improves connectivity for both vehicular and active transport road users. The Holdom Overpass Project, also in partnership with WSP, will eliminate the existing at-grade crossing and provide a new overpass to maintain the existing active transportation system connection and local road connectivity.

The fourth grade separation, the Portside Road Extension Project, will include the new No. 7 Canal Bridge and extension of the road, and a new multi-use pathway.

Through successful collaboration with the Port, local municipalities, Indigenous groups, and members of the Pitt Meadows, Burnaby, and Richmond communities, these infrastructure improvements will help improve travel times for community members, provide better access for emergency vehicles, and enhance rail movement of goods to terminals across the region.
