Creating a place for visitors to learn, collaborate, and reflect
When H-E-B Chairman Charles Butt founded The Holdsworth Center, he envisioned a unique model designed to create lasting change within school districts and a campus that would reflect the importance of Texas educators and the work they do. Today, across the nation, there’s nothing like the Holdsworth Center Campus on Lake Austin—it’s a dedicated space for educators to learn, grow, reflect, and collaborate.
Developed with Lake Flato Architects, the 44-acre campus features outdoor and indoor meeting spaces, a dock classroom, fitness center, social hub, and guest lodging. Utilized for workshops, conferences, and private events, it was designed for engaging learning and private reflection, helping to build strong bonds and lifelong friendships among leaders. Serving as civil engineer, our team was responsible for civil site design, lift station and odor control facility design, Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) roadway improvements, traffic control, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) water quality plans and compliance, utility plan design and coordination, storm water plans and design, and construction phase services. Wetlands were used for both water quality and mitigation requirements as well as rain gardens and biofiltration units.
With the campus now complete, educators have a place where they can truly connect with one another and thrive.
