Designing a LEED certified, mixed-use residential facility to represent the Pacific Northwest spirit
Hip and green, sleek and modern are terms used to describe the Olive 8 mixed-use high-rise in the heart of downtown Seattle. The 39-story, blue-finned glass building welcomes tourists and city dwellers with the first 17 floors a 346-room Hyatt hotel, 229 luxury condos on the upper floors, and two multi-million dollar penthouses to top it off.
The Hyatt at Olive 8 is the first LEED certified hotel in Seattle representing the Pacific Northwest spirit of sustainability through innovative energy, lighting and water saving features. There is no need to drive a car in the hustle and bustle of the city—the building’s centralized location gives visitors and residents a wide array of Seattle’s attractions, shopping and restaurants within walking distance—the historic Pike Place Market and the Puget Sound waterfront are only a few blocks away.
Our work on this chic, contemporary building provides reliable electrical systems, innovative technology systems, optimal acoustical conditions, and elegant lighting design to enhance the overall experience of visitors and owners as they relax and feel at home with a host of fine amenities at their service.
