Using color to create a visually connected space
McCormick Taylor—a civil engineering design firm—wanted their new space to reflect the firm’s cultural values of pride, vibrance, and creativity. We helped conduct a firm-wide employee survey, cross-sectional group workshops, and in-depth discussions with leadership to identify project goals.
Using McCormick Taylor’s brand palette colors to connect the spaces visually, the space is impressive, welcoming, and flexible. We worked with the team to create custom large-scale environmental graphics, signage, wayfinding, and project display. A hospitality-focused community hub space is clustered at the north side of the building and a methodical, organized approach to workspace flows throughout. This uniformity across neighborhoods allows for the firm to move groups, reconfigure offices and furniture with little disruption to the overall look and flow of the space. A monumental stair provides a strong vertical connection between the two floors and creates a strong presence for McCormick Taylor’s guest-facing areas. Special elements include a generous gaming area and gallery display for employee artwork at the center of the hub.
With the work now complete, staff can come together in a productive, collaborative, and bright environment.
