Redeveloping a former golf course into a mixed-use retail, office, and residential village

MarketStreet is a redeveloped portion of a former municipal golf course turned into a mixed-use retail, office, and residential village—a center of activity for the town and region. Our plans created the components that would enhance worker and resident lifestyle as well as maintain the natural environment.

We planned the office and retail component with a “Main Street” atmosphere similar to other New England communities. Inspired by and deferent to the meadow surroundings, our landscape architects took a unique approach to the design rather than using a traditional retail complex mold. Instead, the natural look and feel, enriched by the imperceptible stormwater management design, seamlessly blends form with function, bringing philosophy and aesthetics together.

This new mixed-use “lifestyle center” is 475,000 square feet of retail, office, and residential space, with a site plan that accommodates both pedestrians and vehicles and maintains an attractive look and feel throughout the year.
