A signature high-rise hotel connected to the newly constructed Cleveland Convention Center
The Hilton Cleveland Downtown was conceived in 2013 as more than a typical hotel, but as a destination, tying together an urban core. The city had challenged itself to become a convention locale once again, and our team was hired to help. We would need to design a state-of-the-art facility to complement the convention center while providing stylish accommodations and amenities. Our aim? Establish a professional, yet comfortable hotel atmosphere and reinforce Cleveland as a destination point for conferences in northern Ohio.
A 32-story tower, the high-rise Hilton connects to the newly-constructed convention center and downtown mall. The 600,000-square-foot hotel is a great addition to the Cleveland skyline, offering 600 guest rooms and 50,000 square feet of banquet space. Our team included three restaurants, an iconic sky bar, a pool, and fitness facilities.
We designed the $230 million tower with floor-to-ceiling glass windows, unconventional floor plans, suite options with upscale furniture, and contemporary artwork to sooth guests. Completed in 2016, the Hilton Cleveland Downtown served as the headquarter hotel for the 2016 Republican National Convention and is designed under Certified LEED Silver standards.
