Fort Worth Park, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan

The 13th largest city in the United States, Fort Worth has over 12,337 acres (4,993 hectares) of public parkland to manage and maintain. The City of Fort Worth engaged our team to update their existing park plan and develop a new comprehensive one.

We engaged the community through multiple methods, channels, and events to assess the needs and wants of park users. We applied a public realm and connectivity philosophy to viewing parks and open spaces as part of a green network connecting various areas of the city.

The resulting plan provides a clear path for the City of Fort Worth to address park needs, improvements, and organization. It also includes consideration for creating a comprehensive trail network linking parks, neighborhoods, schools, business, and other transportation networks while enhancing the community’s quality of life.
