New Routes to Good Growth, Medway
New Routes to Good Growth proposes strategic road and rail infrastructure to enable the delivery of 11,000 homes, meeting over a third of Medway’s housing needs by 2035. In December 2018, Medway Council invited us to develop its business case for a £170 million investment through the Housing Infrastructure Fund.
We prepared the options appraisal and economic case, including transportation and environmental appraisal, and our role also covered development, review, and finalization of the strategic, commercial, financial, and management cases. We also managed the wider project team and coordinated the final green book compliant bid for submission in March 2019.
We deployed a team of multidisciplinary and senior staff to deliver innovative solutions to a variety of transportation, environment, and utility challenges.
Our business case set out a compelling vision with strong objectives, clearly demonstrating how strategic investment will support housing delivery and the area’s long-term economic growth. In under four months, we successfully completed and submitted the bid for Medway Council. In November 2019, New Routes to Good Growth was awarded Ministry of Housing, Communities, and Local Government funding of £170 million.
