Creating an environment that drives innovation and economic performance
In response to increasing market demand for aerospace manufacturing, Boeing needed to expand its Canadian operations. The fabrication plant required an expansion to new processing types, equipment, and space.
Stantec completed the design of a new building at the western end of the current manufacturing plant, as well as renovations to the existing plant and administrative areas. The expanded operations also benefit from new office spaces on the mezzanine, an expanded wash bay, modifications to the height of various workshops, and a new 700 stall parking lot and access road—complete with a new security station. Enhanced commissioning was also pursued to help ensure the building was fully functional, and met the design specifications for the complex heating and cooling systems. Our design ensured that the facility aligned with Boeing’s plant operations, employee environment, and sustainability goals.
The result of this expansion creates an environment that encourages collaboration, boosts employee satisfaction, and supports cost reduction per unit, improving the overall production system. The new building will help keep the company competitive in the global market.
