Supported the submission of a development consent order application
The Millbrook Power project, when complete, will include a 299 megawatt gas fired peaking power plant and associated high pressure gas connection and 400 kilovolt underground electrical connection. The power generation plant and new substation will be located within Rookery South Pit, a former clay extraction site. The gas and electrical connections would be sited on agricultural land to the south.
Millbrook Power Ltd. Brought us in on the early stages of the project, and we assisted in assessing the initial feasibility of the site. We then managed all pre-examination planning and environmental work. This included liaison with the Planning Inspectorate, local authorities, and other statutory consultees. We also managed the planning statement and consultation report, the statutory and non-statutory consultation phases, and the environmental assessment process—producing all technical environmental impact assessment sections.
After that was complete, we were retained by Millbrook Power Ltd. to support them through the examination of the project and to manage the discharge of all development consent order requirements.
When the Millbrook Power project is finalized, the plant will provide backup power to other sources of electricity, including renewables such as wind turbines and solar farms.
