Ensuring recommended works are completed in the interest of safety

In the United Kingdom, all reservoir owners have a responsibility to maintain their reservoirs under the regular supervision of specially appointed Reservoir Panel Engineers and to complete any works recommended in the interest of safety. After working closely with our client, Center Parcs, supporting the build of two of their sites, we were asked to provide the supervision and inspections of the reservoirs at all their five UK holiday villages.

Our job was to ensure compliance with the current legislation of the Reservoirs Act. This includes ensuring an on-site reservoir flood plan and map is produced and registering the reservoir with the correct authorities as well as conforming to all safety requirements.

For this project, we designed, managed and delivered the reservoir improvement works at Center Parcs’ Longleat, Sherwood and Elveden villages. We improved safety and enhanced amenities within the forest environment. During the course of the work, our appreciation of our clients’ needs helped to minimise the potential disruption of construction works within the operational village allowing holidaymakers to go about the villages without the works disrupting them.
