Creating a new multi-story engineering building that embraces the site’s topography

Our team worked closely with the University of Texas to design a new, multi-story engineering building on UT-Permian Basin’s (UTPB) Midland Campus.

The building allows space for industrial technology program expansions in areas related to the petroleum industry. Building flexibility was crucial since the building accommodates an aerospace engineering track within the mechanical engineering program as well as future chemical and electrical engineering disciplines. The building includes classrooms, instructional labs, research labs, administrative offices, and student support services for petroleum, mechanical, aerospace and chemistry engineering programs.

With flexibility in mind, the new building provides efficiently designed space to support the optimal productivity of the faculty and staff of UTPB, particularly in the programs of petroleum, mechanical, aerospace, and chemistry engineering as they carry out their teaching, advising, and research activities.
