Facilitating the safe movement of people, no matter what their mode of travel
Pedestrians no longer have to hold their breath and run for it in order to get to their homes and businesses on a heavily travelled section of Glades Road (SR 808) in Boca Raton. Thanks to a $5.6 million overhaul of this urban roadway, it is smooth sailing for foot traffic over and along a bustling .7 mile span that crosses I-95.
Serving as the prime consultant, we provided construction engineering inspection for this project, which included bridge widening, shoulder widening, resurfacing, signalization, roadway lighting, landscaping, irrigation, and utility relocation.
To improve safety and access for pedestrians and bicyclists, this stretch of four lane road now features new sidewalks, bike lanes, American Disabilities Act compliance features, and traffic railing upgrades. New signage and pavement markings better orient traffic, while signalized intersection improvements, including video detection and pedestrian signal upgrades, facilitate the safe movement of people, no matter what their mode of travel. Landscaping enhancements completed the makeover of the complex resurfacing, restoration, and rehabilitation assignment.
