    Orange County, California

Developing a 70-mile loop to connect 16 cities in Orange County

Active transportation isn’t a trend. It’s not a fad. It’s a way of life. Communities across North America are focusing on incorporating active transportation modes into their infrastructure—Orange County, California is no exception. The addition of 28 miles of bike lanes and trails will ultimately form a nearly 70-mile loop through North Orange County and better meet the needs of recreational, utility, and commuting users.

Coordinating with multiple agencies and cities along the corridor, we’re leading the transportation planning, and performing engineering feasibility and alignment studies for the unplanned project segments that will connect several high-quality existing regional bicycle and recreational trails including the Santa Ana River Trail, the Coyote Creek Trail, and Pacific Coast Bikeway. This loop will incorporate a planned and committed 10-mile trail along the UP Railroad corridor through La Habra and Brea, with an existing recreational trail in Yorba Linda. Talk about connecting communities.
