From design to construction in under six months to deliver critical water supply infrastructure
The Mountain Home Air Force Base (MHAFB) in Idaho currently relies on groundwater from wells on base to meet the water demand for base military and residential needs, but it needed a more dependable supply. The solution? Establishing a new water supply source using the C.J. Strike Reservoir to deliver reliable potable water and meet MHAFB’s water demand needs. The Idaho Water Resource Board engaged us to help deliver critical water supply infrastructure to the Base.
Partnered with IMCO Construction, we’re delivering this fast-track design-build water resilience project. It includes an intake structure at the reservoir, a raw water pump station, and 14.4 miles (23.2 kilometres) of raw water pipeline to convey water to a new water treatment plant on base. We completed the design in under six months and all permits are secured. IMCO has two pipeline installation crews, rapidly installing the pipeline and starting intake and pump house construction. The project is on budget and scheduled for completion in summer 2025.
When complete, this water resilience project will help the Idaho Water Resource Board deliver up to 3.64 million gallons (13.8 million litres) per day to MHAFB.
