From beginning to end, from small to large, Matt is accomplished and knowledgeable in all aspects of the structural process for water infrastructure. From small scale seismic assessments to complex designs of essential water treatment facilities, he’s experienced with projects of all sizes. While he’s worked across the country and overseas, his focus lies in his home state of Oregon and nearby Washington.
To date, Matt’s supported US$1.6 billion in water infrastructure as a lead structural engineer, encompassing the design of pump stations, wastewater facilities, and drinking water facilities. Recently, he led the structural design for Portland's Bull Run Filtration Facility, a greenfield water filtration facility, with a global team and several local design partners. He also served as the project technical lead connecting staff to resources and verifying that design products were thoroughly reviewed by our quality team.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. His favorite activities include cooking, coaching youth basketball, kayaking, backpacking, and mountain climbing.
