City of Bonita Springs Downtown Improvement Project

The City of Bonita Springs officials and residents take pride in their city and want the world to know. To create a unique sense of place and spur economic growth, the City embarked on a beautification of downtown. Our landscape architects were part of the Wright Construction design-build team awarded the improvements project.

The team held a series of public engagement workshops which helped us understand the needs and concerns of both residents and business owners. With a mix of pros and cons from our outreach, the project team incorporated the public input into various project design elements—including roadway, bridge, sidewalk, streetscape, and drainage infrastructure.

The final design offers vehicle travel lanes, a roundabout, on-street and off-street parking options, as well as bicycle and pedestrian paths. The hope is to provide a functional, yet beautiful downtown that will enhance the City’s image. And all thanks to the local community being actively engaged in helping shape the project solution.
