From a simple schoolhouse in 1888 to a complex multifunctional campus today
The. C.D. Fulks Middle School site has been part of the Round Rock community for over a century and is an integral piece of the local culture. When Round Rock Independent School District (ISD) needed to replace their old operational school facility, they sought out a team who would respect the school’s history while designing a modern and vibrant campus. Round Rock ISD selected our team to help realize their vision.
Our design emphasizes the integration of open, communal spaces in both exterior and interior areas. We created classrooms and learning environments to be flexible and inclusive, accommodating different learning styles and needs. We also incorporated spaces for collaborative learning, quiet study areas, and accessible facilities for students with disabilities. Technology and resources support bilingual education and multicultural curricula, reflecting the community’s diversity and letting students see their backgrounds represented and respected in their daily education.
In addition to 21st century educational spaces, the school offers venues such as multipurpose hallways, flex spaces, shaded outdoor seating, and a sports complex with a concessions stand. The campus hosts cultural events, football games, meetings, and educational fairs, fostering a sense of unity and belonging for students and the community.
