A community-focused ecopark for residents to enjoy
As part of the Falkirk Greenspace Initiative, the Helix was conceived as an ecopark that would transform 350 hectares of land between Falkirk and Grangemouth.
We were involved from the initial concept stage of this project in 2006, and we prepared the business plan that underpinned Falkirk Council’s successful bid for £25 million of Big Lottery funding. Our services included advice on project changes (in response to shifting markets), economic assessment, and guidance on organisational structure and governance up to project opening.
Best known for its 100-foot high sculptures of The Kelpies—Scotland’s mythical water spirits in horse form—the Helix connects sixteen local communities through extensive path networks, and it’s a popular destination for visitors seeking outdoor activities.
