Working with the community to build something for the community
To capture the recreational requests of the community, we assisted the City of Lethbridge with a comprehensive needs assessment and site selection process. Our public consultation experts engaged the community, using a multi-faceted engagement strategy, which provided a level of public engagement never experienced before in Lethbridge.
The job? Collecting and analyzing information about recreation trends, existing facilities, and community values. From there, we determined which sites would best accommodate community needs. Plus, the engagement process provided the opportunity for the community to explore a number of conceptual park designs and programming ideas.
The process, “Have a Say Where you Play” enabled residents to be involved through precedent setting, cross generation, and engagement strategies such as a drop-in, storefront design studio, interactive design opportunities, site tours, web-based surveys, and social networking.
Our successful public engagement resulted in a report detailing the site recommendation, needs assessment, and opinion of probable cost. The goal? Guide the City’s capital improvement budget planning.
