Improving safety and reliability for tens of thousands of road users every day
Melbourne has experienced significant growth in the Southeast corridor, and with that comes increased traffic congestion. As part of Major Road Projects Victoria, the state government funded the upgrade of Hallam Road: an important link between the South Gippsland Highway and the Monash Freeway.
We were involved in this project throughout its entire lifecycle, from the tendering process right through to the detailed design and construction phases of the road duplication and intersection upgrade. Our transportation engineering, infrastructure, geotechnical, and water teams worked collaboratively with the client to deliver this project, providing functional and detailed design services for the works, including all civil engineering documentation, traffic signal design and flood modeling, along with construction traffic management services. With the work addressing almost 1 mile of road design and two signalized intersections, a wide range of supplementary facilities were also documented including multiple bus stops and shared user path upgrades.
The upgrade has improved safety and traffic flow for the tens of thousands of people who rely on Hallam Road and the South Gippsland Highway every day, making their journey safer and more reliable.
