Bimal has more than 37 years of experience in transportation-related design and construction projects. He’s worked on alternative conceptual study, preliminary and final design, staged construction, inspections, rehabilitation and replacement design, preparation of contract plans and specifications, cost estimates, load ratings, and shop drawing review.
He has extensive experience in the design of transportation structures, including highway interchange bridges, grade separation structures, pedestrian bridges, and drainage structures. He’s also worked using accelerated bridge construction (ABC) techniques, such as during the Eastern Avenue and Kenilworth Avenue N.E. interchange single-span replacement project in the District of Columbia. After the bridge superstructure had sustained significant damage, Bimal and his team designed the replacement using prefabricated superstructure and substructure components to minimize construction time.
When he isn’t at work, you might find Bimal playing cricket, tennis, or basketball. He also has a passion for visiting different countries and exploring the world—his next goal? To visit Australia and New Zealand.
