The Brantford Sports and Entertainment Centre will foster economic growth and revitalize the city centre through community and cultural events
The Sports and Entertainment Centre (SEC) in Brantford, Ontario, will be the new permanent home to Brantford’s Ontario Hockey League team, the Brantford Bulldogs. It’s expected to revitalize the city center.
Located 100 kilometers (62 miles) from Toronto, the multi-use venue will feature 200,000 square feet (18,581 square metres) of newly constructed space, accommodate 5,300 spectators, and celebrate the city’s diverse communities. It will welcome multiple sports, community and cultural events, trade shows, and concerts.
As part of the Brantford City Council’s adoption of a multi-faceted financial strategy, the SEC will play a central role in downtown revitalization. The project is expected to generate C$13.2 million in annual economic activity, create new local jobs, and contribute to the city’s civic growth.
The project is a design-build partnership of Stantec and Graham Construction.
