Are livability and appealing design compatible with sustainability? They are with a holistic approach to design and construction
The Sydney Olympic Games may be long over, but we are always striving for excellence, especially in more sustainable design for projects like 1 - 2 Murray Rose Avenue, Sydney Olympic Park. With best-practice environmental design and building infrastructure, we aim for the project to be the first residential development with a six Green Star rating in New South Wales.
Launched by the Green Building Council of Australia in 2003, Green Star is Australia’s only national, voluntary rating system for buildings and communities. The six Green Star rating indicates “World Leadership” levels in categories such as, energy and water usage, emissions reductions, enhanced indoor environment quality, and efficient land use.
1 - 2 Murray Rose Avenue adopts the design from PTW Architects that won the Sydney Olympic Park Authority Design Excellence Competition. For the two-tower, 290-unit complex, we provided structural, civil, building services and environmentally sustainable design. Our approach considers not just the performance of a system or material, but also its lifecycle—is its manufacturing low impact, will it provide long-term performance, is it recyclable? We may not help our clients win an Olympic medal, but they can achieve a six Green Star rating.
