Our monitor and manage adaptive approach supports projects by investing money in the right infrastructure, at the right time
Urban&Civic are delivering a high-quality settlement of 6,500 dwellings, green open space, associated commercial use properties, and primary and secondary schools. They are investing in a range of transport, energy, and community facilities to support both the new residents and the surrounding town and villages—we’re adding value by bringing our experience from similar schemes.
We helped achieve temporary planning consent for change of use for a number of the existing buildings, including leisure facilities which are open to use for the village and offices. These have now hosted wider consultation events, which have helped keep the local community informed. Our services cover all technical, engineering, and environmental aspects including highways, transport, drainage, flood risk assessment, utilities, ground conditions, noise, air quality, and more.
At Waterbeach, we are creating a futureproof transport system. One that promotes healthier, cleaner forms of active travel and is designed for safety, with a fully pedestrianised school street and a new form of junction providing access to housing that requires cars to cross the footpath rather than pedestrians cross the road. The next stage of the development will see the delivery of micro-mobility solutions and links with proposed rapid transit networks to create better connections for the area.
