Olinda Landfill Gas to Energy
We had expertise. And, we had sophisticated technology. But it was how we combined them together that made the Olinda Landfill Gas to Energy Project—one of the largest landfill gas-to-energy plants in the United States—a success.
Drawing from our collective experience, four Solar Taurus combustion gas turbine generators (CTGs), some heat recovery steam generators, and one single-steam turbine generator, we created an on-site power generation facility that captures landfill gas from a series of wells, treats it on-site, and uses it to generate up to 32.5 MW of electricity. This electricity produced by the plant’s highly efficient combined-cycle process is currently delivered to the regional grid and bought by the City of Anaheim Public Utilities for local use.
We provided services at every stage from design and permitting through to commissioning. They include onsite and offsite civil engineer design, environmental permitting support, detail engineering and design services, construction permitting, and plant start-up and commissioning.
Fueled by creative thinking, this plant is creating new jobs, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and providing low-cost power to 22,000 homes in the community.
