Gasworx - Community Redevelopment
Ybor City is hosting Tampa Bay’s newest mixed-use landmark development—Gasworx. This walkable neighborhood will enhance the community and provide a vital link with downtown areas in Tampa like the Channel District and Water Street Tampa. Once underused industrial land will offer new homes, office space, and retail stores. Gasworx will also feature a marketplace, a pedestrian paseo, new trails, and green space, creating a lively and diverse urban environment.
We’re working with the developer, Kettler, to provide civil engineering and permitting services for the neighborhood’s public infrastructure as well as three blocks, laying the groundwork for guests to access and move through this destination. Our scope also involves complete streets design with parking, new driveways, and sidewalk improvements. Design for drainage and utilities plus creating a stormwater best management practices plan round out our team’s role. As a transit-oriented development, Gasworx will add a new stop for the TECO Streetcar and connect to the Selmon Greenway.
Gasworx will complement the architecture and character of the historic district while adding a new dimension to the city’s skyline. With upgraded mobility and accessibility, residents and visitors will be able to enjoy the rich culture and history of Ybor City and modern amenities.
