Revamping 1800 K Street to attract new tenants and optimize building amenities
1800 K Street NW, also known as the International Club Building, is an11-story office building located in downtown Washington, DC. Constructed in 1970, it was time for a face-lift, and the building owners hired our team to design renovations to the building’s exterior façade and internal public areas.
Beginning in September 2012, our team would step in to offer architectural and interior design services for the $32 million project. The planned renovations were aimed at increasing the building’s profile to attract new tenants and improve the experience for occupants. How? By enhancing the glass exterior with a re-glazed finish and offering a modernized interior lobby with premium building amenities.
The 185,000-square-foot building now offers several new amenities additions, such as the a fitness facility, conference center, and rooftop terrace located right above the 11th floor. We also included the addition of an exterior canopy and punch windows, as well as a new first floor storefront.
Completed in 2016, 1800 K Street NW now boasts a gorgeous glass exterior, establishing a prestigious office setting that will attract new talent in downtown DC.
