We are supporting the development partner through to the completion of this mixed-use residential-focused regeneration program
The regeneration of the Alma Estate is one of Enfield Council’s priority areas for investment and its largest housing estate renewal scheme. The new development will deliver 993 much-needed new homes, including 200 council rented homes and 199 shared-ownership properties.
Stantec supported Countryside Properties with their winning pitch for the regeneration, providing multidisciplinary services including structural, civil, transportation, and environmental services throughout several project phases. First, we helped achieve an outline and detailed consent for the development. Our team successfully assisted in gaining approvals for complex work required adjacent to the critical Network Rail asset, with foundation proposals challenged by complex groundwater conditions and the presence of existing piled foundations. Promoting sustainable homes on the first stage, we worked closely with Enfield Council’s Sustainable Drainage officers to design a scheme which maximized attenuation through surface water infiltration prior to discharging into the primary sewers.
Working to a tightly managed program, our team supported the client from outline detail through to construction in multiple phases. With the first homes of Phase 1 now occupied, this project provides housing, a community center, a new medical center, retail facilities, a district heating energy center, and a new gym.
