Bringing together over 300 people in downtown Winnipeg
In 2009, we made the decision to move offices and be part of the revitalization of downtown Winnipeg. We wanted to become a formative piece of Centrepoint and the Winnipeg Sports, Hospitality, and Entertainment District (the SHED), and help to foster a new level of activity on Portage Avenue.
To embrace the connection with the street and extend the pedestrian zone, all public spaces including reception, public meeting rooms, and the staff room, occupy the south ends of the 4th and 5th floors facing Portage Avenue. The fronts of private offices and meeting rooms were constructed with floor to ceiling glass and space was either demised or created with freestanding millwork in lieu of walls. Workstations were pulled away from the windows to allow for collaboration spaces and a secondary corridor animating the space from street level. Along with two multistory light-wells that flood natural light deep into the office, a grand yellow stair connects the three floors, enabling impromptu meetings and the exchange of ideas.
This fresh new look for our office gives staff a place to connect and inspire one another as it becomes an integral part of Winnipeg’s SHED.
