Expanding the only acute care hospital in the country
King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, the only acute care hospital in the country, prides itself on delivering comprehensive medical care to the population of Bermuda. Their goal was to replace the major clinical components of their services: emergency, diagnostic imaging, surgery, dialysis, oncology, inpatient units, and other clinical and support services. They wanted to do it with a 250,000 square foot addition.
This was Bermuda’s first alternative-finance procurement project. We helped out by providing key advice and services in the overall public-private partnership transaction. Also with legal framework between the board and the bidding consortia and assisting with the evaluation of bid proposals. As construction, occupancy, and operations move forward, we’ll continue to help out with technical compliance assessments of the selected scheme.
