Developing Calgary's commercial and industrial community

Providing approximately a million square feet of commercial/industrial space, the 160 acre Jacksonport project will help develop Calgary’s commercial/industrial community.

Using over 1,000 metres of underground cable and 4,000 metres of overhead conductor, our design is a first for an industrial subdivision to provide shallow utilities for servicing of commercial/industrial lots with the underground power facilities located within the driving portion of the road. The design included the use of manholes for terminating and splicing the cable servicing the lots, and to allow for future lot configurations. The realignment of overhead power lines had to account for the Airport radar system which restricted the overall height of the joint-use pole line which included communication circuits.

Alongside the main overhead power feed, our design also provided for street lights on the site. Flexibility was crucial on this project, as design for a neighboring piece of land was required on short order.
