Increasing public safety and efficiency of major roads in eastern Saskatchewan
With an increase in industry and traffic in and around Yorkton and Melville, the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways embarked on a multi-year strategy to upgrade nearly 100 kilometers of roadway along Highway 9 and Highway 10.
With a goal of allowing safer, increased travel, improvements on these corridors included passing lanes, profile and cross-section improvements, repaving, intersection treatments, and access management modifications. Working on behalf of Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways, we led a team of professionals through the preliminary planning, pursuit, design-build, and post-construction phases of the project in the first roadway design-build project within the province. Our team was responsible for the overall management of the project, preliminary design and analysis, land acquisition, development of contract requirements, review of detailed design and oversight of construction activities for compliance, warranty inspections, and record drawing reviews.
Since the completion of this project, residents can rely on improved capacity and safety on the vital links between their communities.
