International technical and financial assistance—keeping projects on track
The ongoing (or planned) infrastructure programs funded by the European Union (EU) in Madagascar require technical and financial audits as well as evaluation and quality control of engineering studies. Our job is to provide technical and financial assistance—to assess, evaluate, and ensure the quality of current and future projects funded by the EU in the transport, water and sanitation, and energy sectors of Madagascar.
With this project, we’re working on programmes in the Malagasy infrastructure sector. They need to be prepared and implemented efficiently and in compliance with the European Development Fund (EDF) procedures as well as the contractual terms of the markets. Specific tasks also include the monitoring and evaluation of sectoral policies, monitoring programme implementation, overseeing studies in the institutional field, and identifying new actions in the sectors (including transport, energy, health and sanitation, and urban).
For the first part of the project, we’ll be wrapping up the audit needs assessment and quality control funded under the 10th EDF. Then it’s on to the preliminary studies (sectoral or institutional) for the identification of new infrastructure projects to be financed under the 11th EDF.
