Enhancing the EU’s profile in Syria through strategic communication and outreach
The European Union (EU) initiated a project called Communicating the EU in Syria to improve the perception of the EU among Syrian communities. By raising awareness of its goals and activities, the EU looked to build a better understanding of their policies and programs. They engaged our team to enhance outreach efforts in local languages through media, social media, and study visits.
We managed efforts centered around media analysis, integrated communication campaigns, and strengthening the EU’s strategic communication capabilities. Key outcomes included a campaign on access and the right to education for Syrians. The campaign reached 3.2 million people and engaged 400,000 more across social media platforms. Within 12 months, an Instagram account garnered 2,500 followers and a YouTube channel attracted 5,000 followers and 150,000 video views. We helped launch a podcast series, establish a network of young Syrians, and provide media training for 30 Syrian journalists to combat misinformation.
Through coordinated media monitoring, opinion surveys, content production, and strategic training, the project helped improve public awareness of the EU in Syria.
