A seasoned bridge designer and civil engineer, James works across the project life cycle from initial investigation and load rating assessments through to structural engineering concepts, detailed designs, construction, and certification. As a project manager, he’s worked on some of Australia’s landmark bridge projects such as the concept design and development of the Kempsey Bypass Tender—the longest bridge in Australia.
James also served as surveillance engineer to extend the East West Runway on the Sydney Airport Runway End Safety Area. He was the project verifier for the Bennelong Bridge, the Kingsgrove to Revesby railway duplication, the King Georges Road M5 interchange, and the Lachlan’s line pedestrian bridge. More recently, he was the project manager and design manager for the Muswellbrook Railway under bridge designs for Australian Rail Track Corporation, replacing three existing rail bridges with a multi-span ILM bridge and a single span through girder bridge.
Outside of work James likes being outdoors where he enjoys a variety of activities—from bushwalking to sheep, goat, and cattle farming, bee keeping, and landscaping, to kayaking and dirt-bike riding.
