For over 25 years Rowan has been delivering successful structural projects within Australia. A highly experienced and personable manager, Rowan has established, led and grown profitable structural teams in Melbourne and Perth over the last 17 years. Rowan is currently a Director at Stantec and as Australian Discipline Leader for structures, has strategic goals to facilitate consistent, high-quality service across our Australian business. He also holds wider corporate responsibilities involving the remote management of Stantec’s office in China and chairing the national Buildings Risk Management Committee.
An experienced manager of people, versatile project manager and also a Registered Builder, Rowan presents unique insight into construction considerations and adopts a hands-on and practical approach to engineering. His specialist technical skillset includes forensic engineering and expert witness work, but Rowan is equally passionate about heritage and conservation engineering. Rowan remains actively involved in personal project work as well as assisting others in both project and mentoring capacities.
Rowan is a handyman outside of work, committed family man (with three young boys), and enjoys good wine. He has also forged an active music career outside of work, having performed as lead guitarist and vocalist in several active bands across country rock, blues and Eagles/Fleetwood Mac tribute genres. Rowan will travel the world for the right guitar or project!
