Maximizing training capabilities in a state-of-the-art building
The Quantico P677 TECOM (Training, Education and Command Headquarters) Academic Building will provide a secure, functional training center for the Marine Corps Training and Education Command. To separate the various functions and security requirements of the various users, branches have been divided into individual wings and floors in the modern, new facility.
Optimizing the functionality of the space was key in the design process. Developing a unique design, intuitive layout and internal flow creates a structure that enhances the capabilities of the educational facility. Access to the building is limited to students and staff of the university, and the building successfully consolidates several functions into a single, integrated space.
The design includes architecture, interior design, consultant coordination and sustainability leadership. The three-story building will include administrative, instruction and training classrooms, administrative offices, conference rooms, showers and locker rooms, storage, a Base Shop Test Facility (BSTF) training facility that includes a War Room.
