Delivering a site design that avoided costly and time-consuming options
The Perris Distribution Center is located in western Riverside County near the air cargo facility, March Global Port. When our client set out to create this 1.7 million square foot (158,000 square metre), state-of-the-art warehouse and distribution center, we were responsible for the site improvement plans and the preparation of construction documents. This meant site design, civil engineering, storm water quality control, survey, construction staking, and offsite road improvements.
Our site design avoided costly and time-consuming dirt import while lifting the building pad out of the flood plain, and our street improvement plans include 1.6 miles (2.6 kilometres) of the adjoining major arterial, three signalized intersections, offsite streets, and intersection reconstruction plans for an arterial highway crossing. We also prepared an offsite storm drain improvement plan for 0.8 miles (1.3 kilometres) of master planned flood control facilities, onsite drainage, and water quality control facilities that minimized loss of net usable project area.
From onsite water, sewer, and fire protection improvements to roadway improvements and other civil services, we helped our client create a balanced grading plan in an area that is subject to flooding from the San Jacinto River.
