Creating a luxurious living space with community parks, an outdoor pool, and a cozy design
Stretching from Boston to Brookline, the Emerald Necklace park system is a sanctuary of 100-year old oak trees, waterways, and shaded paths vigilantly watched over by conservancy organizations. Nestled into this urban wild is Olmsted Place, a residential study in sensitive massing and material use.
Our task was to design a large, five-story residential building. We used brick and metal as well as varying roof heights and setbacks to respectfully site a contemporary structure into the community. The soothing, minimalist interiors draw inspiration from the work of famed landscape architect, and project namesake, Frederick Olmsted.
With superlative amenities, including a park-side outdoor pool and deck, Olmsted Place is open now and is LEED Silver certified.
