A viable transportation network helps drive the economy, walkability, and sustainability goals for this growing Nashville suburb
The Town of Mt. Juliet is one of the fastest growing cities in Tennessee. They’re developing a range of retail, restaurant, and entertainment options, which allows residents to stay local rather than drive to Nashville for entertainment. As a result, the city’s transportation network is becoming increasingly congested, bringing health and safety risks to residents.
To create a more livable, connected community, our team is creating a plan for a more sustainable multimodal transportation network. The plan addresses safety, connectivity, regional mobility, and commuting choices, while building upon the community vision for the future transportation system. Top priorities include identifying a collector street network for better access and connections as well as developing concept designs for access management and streetscape improvements. We’re using a complete streets approach, supporting on-street bicycles and a sidewalk network, and developing an off-street utilitarian and recreational greenway system.
The results of this plan will be integrated into the Nashville Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Long Range Transportation Plan, Transportation Improvement Program, and fiscally constrained plan.
