Completing a hospital to house a neonatal nursery addition, oncology unit, cancer care center, and full-service cafeteria
When the Little Company of Mary Hospital was researching potential renovations, the board elected to address all hospital needs immediately rather than in a series of separate ventures. The planned project resulted in an extensive transformation that would change the visual identity of the campus and include the development of a new women’s center, a family birth Center, and over 100 new patient rooms.
Our team was commissioned to provide a series of ongoing architectural, interior design, planning, and landscape services. The goal was to develop a mission-driven facility formed from the Little Company’s core value: to ensure compassionate care for all patients.
At 500,000 square feet, the completed hospital houses a neonatal nursery addition, oncology unit, cancer care center, and a full-service cafeteria. The new tower design respects the strong cultural identification that the community has with the original cruciform inpatient structure, and embodies the spirit of the 1928 tower while modernizing the campus environment to meet current and future needs.
