We provided clean-up and restoration services after an 843,000-gallon oil spill

When an Enbridge Energy Partners pipeline ruptured outside of Marshall, Michigan, in July 2010, it spilled approximately 843,000 gallons of oil into Talmadge Creek, the Kalamazoo River, and the associated floodplain.

We were part of the initial response, and we supported Enbridge with follow-up remediation and scientific studies. Our team provided oversight of cleanup and restoration, inspection and assessment, and environmental permitting at the site. We also handled permitting and design for the removal of a dam and river restoration.

Our team designed an overwintering facility where we provided care for hundreds of turtles that couldn’t immediately go back to nature.
