Scaling-up resource efficiency and waste minimization activities in the industrial, corporate and municipal sectors across Türkiye
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) created the NØW Project to support the Turkish government with the minimization of waste being generated in the country. How? By mobilizing funds for waste reduction investments with high potential for replicability.
For this project, the EBRD selected Stantec to provide a framework for waste minimization scale-up. Our goal was to increase the competitiveness of Turkish corporate enterprises through the optimal use of resources and technological innovation. We also wanted to introduce best practices and improvements to the waste management practices of clients. This project will support market transformation and transition by supporting demonstration projects for different waste streams, introducing advanced assessment of optimal resource use and aligning the interest of technology suppliers and end-users. The project consists of several components: introducing financing products, developing market assessments, pipeline preparation, and technical support, policy analysis and implementation, and several coordination, knowledge sharing and visibility activities.
The outcome? The short and long-term prioritized investments our team proposed will increase operational efficiency and reduce waste, water, and energy usage in Türkiye.
