Designed to provide better healthcare and wellness to the new community
The Mediclinic Parkview Hospital is a 182-bed general hospital located in the heart of New Dubai. The facility includes a large ambulatory care component with over 120 exam and treatment rooms. The program also features emergency unit, radiology, pharmacy, surgery, physiotherapy, renal dialysis, endoscopy, day-care, ICU, labor and delivery, and a NICU. It has dedicated inpatient nursing units for pediatrics, medical, surgical, post-partum and VIP patients, and support units like CSSD, dietary services, administration and materials management.
Situated on a narrow linear site, the Mediclinic Parkview Hospital’s design provides intuitive wayfinding by locating the main vertical public circulation cores directly off the lobby space, and the lobby is a dynamic ‘inside-outside’ double-height space that provides ample daylight and access to the outpatient areas with integrated coffee shop and retail outlets. The architecture includes contemporary materials like metal and glass along with traditional accents of Mashrabiya screens and stone.
Finally, sustainability initiatives in the building design were added, including a high-performance façade system, condensate recovery, energy recovery and solar panels for water heating and power generation. The project which took two and a half years to build, will focus on clinical excellence supported by state-of-the art technology and equipment. Mediclinic Parkview Hospital is now open, 65 days ahead of the planned schedule thanks to the Stantec team.
