Bringing new speeds to Western Canada

Connecting communities—with fiber! In 2016, we helped TELUS bring frontline internet technology into Alberta and British Columbia. Working with TELUS to expand their fiber network was as rewarding as it was challenging. With potent weather patterns, seasonal conditions, and dynamic landscapes causing concern, our planning and perseverance were put to the test.

For several years, TELUS has invested more than $1.5 billion towards enhancing the speed, reach, and service capabilities of their wireline broadband network. The investments fund the TELUS Future Friendly Home® strategy, a long-term plan to increase speed and reduce technological turnover. The framework allows TELUS to improve service quality and offer new and exciting product bundles to the residential community.

We were there to support the scope of the project. TELUS identified target cities for FTTH while we conducted research and prepared site locations in communities like Cranbrook, Revelstoke and Edmonton. We were responsible for quality control, site surveys, permit applications, and design consultation. The standards of excellence were clear—quality work will lead to quality service. We delivered the most reliable Internet service to millions of Canadians, safe and on-time.
