Playing a pivotal role in helping the City of Gold Coast plan a sustainable future
In 2019, the City of Gold Coast was faced with an increasing number of water-related upgrade and maintenance issues—and they needed to secure a professional services partnership (PSP) to help streamline and expedite the influx of work. The City also wanted to establish a partnership with a firm that could help meet their long-term objective of becoming a more sustainable city.
A formalized joint venture between Stantec and WSP was retained for this 10-year contract, and since then, our team has worked on over 100 projects that range across our entire water services line.
One notable project? The Merrimac Wetlands Concept Design adjacent to the sewage treatment plant, that caters to wildlife while also naturally filters sewage. Another notable project is the Recycled Water Pipeline Network Expansion that connected recycled water pipelines from sewage treatment plants to surrounding parks, golf courses, and sporting facilities for grass watering.
This contract is ongoing and continues to maintain positive collaboration between Stantec and WSP, project success, and client satisfaction.
