IMike’s introduction to structural design came as a Stantec intern working on high-profile, complex projects—where his passion for bridge design quickly took root. As a young engineer on the path to management, he set out to expand our transportation practice into West Virginia. Now, after more than two decades, his legacy remains as the team continues to grow and deliver transformational projects.
Today, Mike leads an entire region of transportation professionals across the North Central and Southeast US with infectious dedication. Identifying each person’s strengths and assigning them accordingly gives credence to his management style and niche in fostering development. His design management of the I-69 Ohio River Bridge Crossing Design-Build Section One project is a testament to his leadership style that drives success and builds lasting relationships.
To say Mike takes his work home with him is an understatement. Dinner table conversations with his wife, FaLena—who is also an engineering executive in the construction field—and their three sons often revolve around the day’s engineering experiences.
